Rtr - Ready To Run Models
RTR or Ready to Run models of RC Toys and models are those versions that allow the hobbyist to avoid the troubles of building their own model. RTR or Ready to Run models are especially meant for those people who are either starting off with the RC Hobby or have decided to take some time off and get a new model that simply runs without requiring too much work to get it started. RTR or Ready to Run models are the most popular variety of models that are sold today and it is primarily due to these models that a lot of people are taking up the hobby of RC toys and models.
RTR models are available in all genres of RC toys, ranging from RC Plane, RC Helicopters and RC Cars, to RC Boats, RC Motorbikes and even RC Robots. The main idea behind RTR models is to allow people to quickly reach the part that they like the most, i.e. running their models. Since newcomers can get discouraged from the hobby if it is hard to put a model together, these models are the ideal starting point.
Most RTR models are simple electric models while some, especially RC Aircraft, run on external forces, such as down-hill RC Glider. Due to the factory-fitted equipment, these models may not have the performance or power of a kit or another kind of RC model (nitro or gas-powered), they are ideal for beginners.
However, buying an RTR model doesn't mean that you can simply buy it and head out to the park. You will need to do a little bit of assembly to put the model together. Although this won't require extensive expertise with tools and their usage, you may need to be able to do some basic fittings. The battery-pack, radio receiver and servo, etc. may require basic installation to be put into place on the model.
Once you have these small installations done and out of the way, your RTR or Ready to Run model is ready to hit the testing grounds, be it the streets outside your house, the local pond or the nearest skies above the local park. Complete with instructions and decals, RTR or Ready to Run models are the best bet for people looking to start off in the hobby or even those who are simply looking to buy a new model and not waste too much time putting it together.
