Drawing Lessons

How to Learn to Draw Quickly and Efficiently!

Drawing Lessons are ideal if you have a budding artist in your midst or if you fancy rekindling a former interest in art. Whilst many artists are self taught, or have only received basic instruction through their school years, having regular drawing lessons can increase the student's opportunity to learn all the drawing skills quickly and efficiently. Regular drawing lessons of course means that the student practices more diligently and it is this gentle instruction coupled with enthusiastic practice that will make all the difference.

Think about what you wish to learn and if it is drawing techniques in general or choosing specific mediums to draw in such as charcoal or whether you wish to fine tune current expertise such as portrait drawing. Once you have found a reputable artist/tutor who is willing to guide you through the necessary technique, then consider what you would like to achieve most and let the tutor know in advance of the actual drawing lessons.

Some tutors will give you drawing objectives as the lesson progresses and these could range from:

Drawing a still life

This could be an object around the house and be as simple as a bowl of fruit or a vase of flowers. This goal will enable the tutor to gauge a great deal about current expertise, style and ability.

Drawing an animal

This project could involve drawing a household pet such as a cat or dog for example. The tutor will wish to see how well you capture the animals characteristics, how well you were able to draw the eyes, ears and fur.

Rapid Drawing

This can be an exciting challenge for the artist as the tutor may allow only a designated number of minutes for each drawing to be completed. The challenge here lies in capturing the pure essence of the subject only as there is no time in which to capture more.

There are many different drawing projects which serve to stimulate the student?s creativity and artistic spirit and drawing lessons along with tutor guidance can see quick and rapid development.
