Entertainment memorabilia contains anything and everything that is related to a large entertainment industry prevalent across the globe. From music to movies to sports to theatre, anything and everything that entertains you can easily be classified under entertainment memorabilia. While there might be more specific definitions of the term, entertainment memorabilia is a hobby where you are free to collect and admire that which entertains you.

The problem with picking entertainment memorabilia as your hobby is that there are tonnes and tonnes of items, categories and genres to choose from. The options don't leave you spoilt for choice as much as they leave you confused and unfocussed. Therefore it is quite important to pick your favourite and stick to it, if you want your hobby to get anywhere.

Now, what would that favourite be? That is totally up to you. Pick your interests - movies, music, arts, sports, theatre, television, radio, etc. Once you have what you like the most, pick what you like within it - this could be a particular band, a television show, a genre of music or a particular theatre artiste or director maybe. The next step would be to go out looking for anything and everything you can get under that particular classification. Depending on the choice you make, your collection can be extremely cheap & big or small & expensive, depending on your budget and time constraints.

Movies are an all-time favourite amongst hobbyists and items such as James Bond's Tuxedo or miniature replicas of his Aston Martin are always popular amongst entertainment memorabilia hunters. Most collectors look for items that were actually used during the shooting of the movie, which means that these items are the actual props that were used for the movies. These props are always more expensive than the replicas available cheaply in many gift shops and souvenir stores.

Other movie collectibles such as the light sabers from the Star Wars series, weapons used in many action movies, clothes and accessories worn by actors in movies and much more, have become popular entertainment memorabilia with originals as well as replicas being sold all over the world.

The music industry has also thrown up some wonderful collectible items such as the late great Michael Jackson's sequin-laden glove or Elvis Presley's wonderful wardrobe items. While these items are usually out of reach of most collectors, going into the hundred thousands of dollars, cheaper memorabilia include mugs, tee-shirts and many other usable & decorative items that can be bought for anything from a few dollars to some hundreds, at most.

There are a number of ways to get your hands on entertainment memorabilia with the most common and popular being the many gift shops and memorabilia stores that have popped up in places known for their entertainment, such as Hollywood, California. These stores sell anything and everything pertaining to movies, music and all other entertainment avenues for collectors. They usually have things in all price ranges but if you are a good bargainer, you can try to get a better deal than the usual over-priced options that they give.

You can also get some fine entertainment memorabilia such as old ticket stubs, movie tickets for special shows, brochures or the like, in flea markets and also in garage sales. Garage sales can throw up some interesting items that people may consider useless, but are of immense value to the collector.

If all else fails, then the Internet is always a wonderful option for you to look at. You can talk to collectors from across the world, looking at items that you have never probably seen in your own town. The problem of buying fakes and broken items is always there however there is always a chance that you may find a trusted or reputed seller who gives you a great price on some fine entertainment memorabilia.

Whether you are a fan or simply collecting these entertainment memorabilia for their investment value, you will find a number of options that allow anyone and everyone to pursue this hobby. Along with buying a piece of your favourite entertainment shows or artistes, you are guaranteed years of fun in the unrestricted hobby that is collecting entertainment memorabilia.
