Brewing Bulwark American Lager is a great way to enjoy a popular version of American Lager. This deep gold colored beer is an ideal recipe for beginners as it is easy to make and is extremely refreshing. But brewing Bulwark American Lager should be done only after you are clear about the basics of brewing beer at home, and have at least done it a couple of times. If you are sure of your basics, then now you need to get all the equipment required for brewing Bulwark American lager.

The main ingredient while brewing Bulwark American lager is malt extract. For our recipe, Munton & Fison Light Dried malt extract should do. Apart from that, light malt syrup, provided by the same distributor is another key ingredient. Moving onto the pellets, you will need Willamette pellets, and Cascade pellets. Finally another main ingredient would be the yeast, #2035 American Lager, WYeast should do perfectly. Finally, a touch of Irish Moss should give your Bulwark American lager a good flavor. All the above mentioned ingredients are apart from the standard beer brewing supplies that you will need to brew the beer.

Now that you have all the beer brewing supplies ready, we begin the process of brewing Bulwark American lager. Begin by boiling the extracts, continue doing so for around 15-20 minutes. After the required time has elapsed add Willamette pellets to the container, and once again let it boil for around 15 minutes. Now you add the Irish Moss, and let the liquid boil for around five minutes, following which you add the Cascade pellets and wait for another five minutes. Now you have successfully prepared your wort.

Just like you did while brewing beer at home for the first time, you now transfer your wort into a bucket and let it remain there overnight. The next day you need to swirl it around to add oxygen to the wort. After which point you add the yeast, splash it as much as you want as this will only increase the oxygen in the wort, making fermentation easier. Now leave it at room temperature till the yeast starts showing signs of activity. After this, move the container to a dark place and leave it there for about a week. After a week, you bottle your beer and wait for a second week, following which you refrigerate it. After they are nice and cold, open up a few bottles and enjoy the results of your first experience with brewing Bulwark American lager at home.
