With the change of time, this family-friendly hobby of robot building has not only turned out to be the popular playthings of new generations, it also enables you to interact with your kids, becomes a new friend and at the same time helps you to pursue your hobby with great interests.

If you are interested in creating new improved models to use in competitions or if you intend to share your quality time with your kids sharing your robot, the most important thing would be to take the help of construction kit, especially meant for robot building. This kit is considered as the most accessible way to begin. Your robot can be built to perform multiple functions such as fire fighting, combating, escaping from mazes, playing games and other challenges.

In order to witness your robot in action, you need to get involved in robot competitions, where you will find your robot competing against other robots to perform a set task. Such competitions are mainly organized through schools or research centers to encourage robot builders, displaying their robotic skills against one another.

History of Toy Robots
The Toy robots have certainly come a long way from Jacques de Vaucanson's mechanical duck over two centuries ago. In 1930's, Westinghouse Electric Corporation was found building a humanoid robot better known as Electro. The first truly modern robot that was digitally operated, programmable and teachable was invented by George Devol in 1954. While in 1985, the Tomy Kyogo Company created Omnibot 2000, a toy robot that could be controlled by a hand held remote control followed by others. In 2001, Omron released the robotic cat NeCoRo adding mind and consciousness technology, enabling it to generate feelings.

Robots are common nowadays. However, it is obvious that we are going to see a more intelligent robot in the years to come.
