Clove Oil has so many wonderful and practical applications varying from the traditional use of treating toothache to using for stress, headaches and even indigestion. Clove oil is considered by many to be a way of curing or treating cancer and also for hepatitis, but there is no scientific proof to support this. Because of the individual strength of the oil, it is wise to be careful when using it and it should always be diluted before applying it. Clove oil blends really well with many different essential oils such as lavender, geranium, orange, rosemary, basil and cinnamon essential oil.

Clove oil can be used in the following ways:

Dental pain

Diluted clove oil is an effective remedy for mouth ulcers, toothache and sore gums. It can be used as a gargle which helps to ease a sore throat as well as remove bad breath.

To combat stress

Clove oil can help to remove fatigue and mental exhaustion and as such is an excellent stress reliever. It can help those who suffer from insomnia and can be extremely useful for those who suffer with poor memory or depression.

Headaches

When mixed with salt, it can be excellent when applied to the forehead to eliminate headaches.

Earaches

Add a little of the oil with sesame oil and this can ease earache.

Bronchial Problems

When used as an expectorant, it can be extremely effective in easing bronchitis and coughs and colds.

It is easy to purchase oil of clove from health shops and chemists as it is a popular and well-known remedy, but always ensure that the oil purchased is pure and of good quality prior to purchase otherwise the benefits will not be as good. Although the remedies listed here are safe to use, always check that you are not subject to any allergic reactions and remember to read up the full usage of this traditional and popular home remedy. It is worth realising that if you wish to use more holistic and home-made health remedies, purchasing a supply of Clove Oil in your first aid kit is a good idea.
