Add a Touch of the Exotic to your Home!

Frankincense oil is pale and yellow-green oil which has a distinctive spicy and slightly haunting aroma and it is known for its exotic qualities. Frankincense oil originating in the Middle East is distilled by steam, and it is easily sourced from a variety of retail outlets however; it can be purchased direct from specialist suppliers through the internet. Frankincense oil has no contra-indications and so is fairly safe for all to use but it is always worth researching for any potential problems prior to use and that includes any individual essential oil.

Frankincense oil has many therapeutic qualities and makes a welcome addition to any home first aid medicine chest.

It can be used for a variety of ailments such as:

-    Soothing the mind and assisting in meditation
-    Eases anxieties and increases the ability to let go of past problems
-    Can aid labour through it’s calming qualities
-    Can ease heavy periods
-    Helps to clear the lungs and eases the problems associated with bronchitis, and coughs and colds in general.
-    Eases rheumatism
-    Frankincense oil also helps to rejuvenate skin showing signs of aging and is a useful skin tonic.
-    It also helps with healing to wounds and scar tissue.

Some essential oils can be expensive so it is always worth reading up on individual properties prior to purchasing. Always ensure that the oils you purchase are pure essential oils as there are some less expensive oils around but these have a distinctively lesser quality to them, therefore their benefits would be rapidly reduced.  Frankincense oil blends well with other oils such as Sage, Geranium, Ginger, Basil, Bergamot and Cedarwood.

Invest in a good book or research some specialist websites so that you can learn more about all of the unique qualities contained within each essential oil. Many benefits can be received by incorporating this holistic therapy into your everyday lifestyle, teaching family and friends how to use the oils as well will greatly enhance your life on a variety of levels. If planning to select some key oils for a home first aid kit, make sure you choose to have Frankincense oil.
